Jewish historian, Flavus Josephus in his classical report described the destruction of Jerusalem in which no stone stood upon the other and even the foundation stones were hauled away. Jewish hero of the Jewish revolt bemoaned the absolute desolation he saw in Jerusalem confirming what Josephus wrote. The temple that was destroyed was built on a spring for ritual cleansing and there are NO springs on the rock they claim to be the holy site of ancient Judah. Yet archaeologists and politicians alike make claims that the Western Wall is an artifact of the Second Temple. Only the Roman encampment, Fort Antonia remained after the destruction in 70 AD. The Second Temple was located over a spring, not over a solid rock.
