Job 8 introduces Bildad the Shuhite, who much like Eliphaz hones - TopicsExpress

Job 8 introduces Bildad the Shuhite, who much like Eliphaz hones in on God punishing sin. Namely, Bildad states that if Jobs children have sinned then God has cast them away. This is truly a hurtful thing to say to any parent who has lost their children. Although he may state truths about those who forget God, Bildads reasoning is that of flesh and not Gods eternal message. Got to hand it to Job, how many of us would snap on Bildad after such statements? Job though encourages back in Chapter 9 with the understanding that God is just and no man is just before God. Unlike Bildad, Job does not directly attack his friend but states that God does what he wants, when he wants and that the saving of flesh is not the key Idea, but the salvation of the eternal soul, so to trying to reason Gods rational in earthly terms is contention with God. God even told Cain, if he does well, will he not be accepted. Job also states that he will not contend with God on the matter, God destroyeth the wicked and the righteous, therefore who will tell God when it is time to judge, for God is not a man, that anything done by God is because any has let him. One of the key words in this chapter is the word Let. How many times do we take the word of God and Let it accomplish our good will. The answer is never, though we may carefully craft the words to back up some ideology and usually because we deceive ourselves, we are not God that we can LET one thing happen outside of our acceptance of Christ as savior. In Chapter 10 Job turns and pleads with God. Not with reason but with supplication. Supplication definitely is another key term when presenting our requests to God and the very first thing Job requests from God is that God will not condemn him. Wow, salvation! God also shares with us that before making this request Job is honest about how he feels and from where this expressing of himself is coming from. God is aware of Jobs emotional state, so sharing it with us in his word must have a purpose. Any Ideas on what that might be that God is communicating to us? Have a wonderfully blessed day in our Lord Jesus.
