Jodie Says Based in Wales UK Hi my sons nearly 5, were still in the process of diagnosing which would have been finalised before xmas if hed had problems settling back in to nursery but he didnt. Anyway hes been held back a year in nursery as he wasnt ready to move to reception. Nursery and mainstream school that he will go to dont seem to have any concerns holding him back indefinately! Im worried what it will do to his self esteem and hed be a target for bullies. Hes verbal and not drastically behind his peers (clearly not helped that hes learning at nursery level instead of reception and only having 2.5 hours of schooling a day) I try teaching him stuff at home but hes not interested in numbers and letters. If anyone has been in a similar situation and has any advice or your child hasnt been affected by being held back please let me know. Id be very gratefully. Tia xx
