Joe G. I started in Ocala in 1984 working WCMD, then worked in the commodity group supporting most of the programs including VLS, Pave Penny, and TADS, then off to Copperhead, Hellfire, Lantirn, Hellfire II, and Longbow. From there transitioned to Orlando to work WCMD, a stint at corporate doing lean six sigma where I got to support San Antonio, Marietta, Stennis, Moorestown, Syracuse, Bolder, Sunnyvale, Manassas, Egan, Troy and Archibald. Took off for a couple of years up to NJ in support of Electronic Systems, then to Sunnyvale in support of Space Systems, and finally to Ft Worth in support of Aeronautics where I retired from after 29 years last July. Im sure you all have collections of artifacts from your programs one that I have is some mugs from various programs and activities. One thing I can tell you is regardless of the location all felt that they had in some way been taken over as a result of the merger and that the new culture was somehow different and not as good as the old. So it was interesting traveling and working at all of these locations where the first comment was something along the lines of we were heritage XXX and things arent as good as what they used to be when we out from big brother . Even sites that were part of Lockheed felt that way and when you look at 29 heritage companies that made up the mega merger of Lockheed Martin I dont recall one feeling that there location was somehow ahead of all of the rest because they were in the driver seat so to speak. Ocala is the closest thing I have to calling someplace home and Martin Marietta is still where I have the fondest memories and the most friendships so thanks for including me in this public group I hope some of these will trigger some memories for you!
