June 16, 2013 Dear Dad, First and foremost I would like to wish you a happy Fathers Day. I did not get you anything from the store but I wanted to give you something that is from the heart and that you can always have from me. Dad you are one of the greatest people 0n this Earth that I have ever met. You are an absolutely incredible husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Being close to Amanda and seeing her dealing with the loss of her father this past week has really touched my heart and made me think about you a lot. I could not ever imagine having to deal with losing you. Having you at all my important events like tennis matches and graduation has meant a lot to me even if I have not told you before. Those are memories that I will always cherish and will always have. Some of my favorite memories in my life are times when you are there. One of my favorite memories is whenever you used to dance with me standing on your feet. Even though we cannot do that anymore that is something I will be able to do with my kids one day and I can tell them how I used to do that with you. Also another memory I love is whenever we saw Stuart Irby in Walmart and you started dancing like a gorilla. I was pretty embarrassed at the time but it is something that always makes me laugh when I think about it. And I love remembering all of our trips up north. Anytime we go on a family vacation I always get many memories that I love and will always have. And finally I like to remember the times with Devon when you were there. You always let us hang out and that is something I am very thankful for to this day. He liked coming over because he knew you would never let him leave without feeding him something. And he also thought you were hilarious. He loved you a lot and I thank you for loving him back. Even though I may give you a hard time and argue with you more than I should I know that you only want what is best for me and I am thankful for that. I know that you care about me and I could never thank you enough for that. I know that above all, you always put your family first and that is something I admire very much. You are a wonderful role model and if I can be half a good as father to my children one day as you are to me then I will be pretty good! If it were not for you and how hard you push me then I probably would not be where I am right now. I thank you for always staying on me in school so that I can be at USM 0n scholarship. You gave me a great hard working mentality and that is something that will never change. I know that you worry about me and you worry I will not be able to make enough money coaching football but it is because of you that I know I can succeed in becoming a coach. You have given me the tools and the enthusiasm to go for my dreams. I know that because of the things you have taught me nothing can stand in my way of becoming a successful coach. With enough hard work, determination, and preparation I will become a successful coach that can take care of my family. I am so thankful to you for working all the 1,000 jobs you did so that we would not have to worry about money. And one day when I get the chance I will get to take care of you and mom, I promise. You have taught me so much and when people compliment me 0n my character or the way I act it all points back you. You taught me my values and helped mold me into the person I am today. And throughout your life you have provided a great example of the man that I want to become. Though we may not always see eye to eye I want you to know that I love and respect you so much. You are one of the biggest influences in my life and I never want that to change. I want you to know that I am thankful for all you have given me over the past nineteen years but most of all I am thankful for your love. As we talked in church about Gods unfailing love today I could not help but to think of you. Throughout my life I have yelled at you, been angry with you, lied, and made plenty of mistakes but you have always loved me. You are one of the greatest examples I have on this Earth of Gods love. No matter what happens or what I could ever do to you I know that you always love me. I am thankful for that. Now I know that Shawn, TC, and I always argue about who the best son is but really that is irrelevant. Without you and mom raising us the way you did none of us would be any good but thanks to you guys we are all awesome sons! The real winner is you and mom. You are the best parents. Now I promise I am going to wrap this up soon just be patient; I have a few more things to thank you for. Thanks for marrying mom mostly because you guys are great together and I love you both to the moon and back. Another thing is thank you for loving Sammi and being supportive of our relationship it means a great deal to me to know that you approve of her and love her as a daughter. Dad I know that I could tell you anything in the world and you would still love me the same. You are an awesome dad and I know many of my friends wish they had a dad like you. I thank you for always being there even when it was not convenient to drive to Jackson to watch me play tennis or to come watch me play football. I thank you for always supporting me in my decisions and for helping me grow up into the man I am becoming. I got most of my surface genes from mom. How every compassion, my stubbiness, my heart, my attitude, my outlook, my kindness, my generosity, and my desire I got from you. You are an incredible father and not only today, but also everyday Im thankful for you. No matter what, no matter how old I get, I will never be embarrassed to say I love you more dad.
