The Mi-17 military helicopters will be used by the Afghan National Security Forces Special Mission Wing, an aviation unit that supports counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics and special operations missions. Work will be performed in Russia and is expected to be complete by Dec. 31, 2014. This contract involves foreign military sales. July 18, 2013 Rosoboronexport FGUP, Moscow, Russia, was awarded a $171,380,636 firm-fixed-price contract. The award will provide for the modification of an existing contract to procure 10 additional Mi-17 helicopters. Work will be performed in Russia, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 31, 2016.
