June 6th PERSISTANT We can do anything we want as long as we stick to it long enough. Helen Keller I begin everyday in my chair with my bible, my computer and my cup of coffee. Lately though I have added something else, my cat. Actually Katie’s rescue kitty. It doesn’t matter what I do. If I throw the cat on the floor he will jump right back in my lap lying over my computer. After days of doing this over and over again I realized that Teddy wasn’t going to quit. So I decided that until I gave Teddy a little bit of TLC he was going to continue this annoying behavior. So now while I read I pet the cat and then slide him next to me in the chair. All it took was a little bit of attention and he was satisfied. God is persistent and he will get our attention. When the Lord sends us a message it is important and we should pay attention. However many times we ignore His voice. When we do this He will make us restless. He will make us uncomfortable. He will make us unable to finish our tasks. He is like Teddy, very persistent until we pay attention. This persistent behavior is a good thing because the Lord is intervening and wanting us to follow Him. When you go through a restless time in your life you should stop and ask the Lord what it is he wants you to do. Live realizing that God has a persistent presence in your life. God will do something to get our attention just as He got the attention of Jacob and his family. He put them in the middle of a famine not to push them away but to bring them to Him. He is determined to lead all of us to Him. We will find strength in Him to press on and be persistent with living for the Lord. John 15:16 New International Version (NIV) 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. Dear Lord thank You for caring about us. We know at times You are probably aggravated at us, but You continue to love us anyway continually drawing us closer to You. We surrender completely to You and Your will. WE come to You everyday in prayer asking for You to never give up on us.
