Just a little food for thought! It is that time of year when our cute and photogenic friends of the forest...aka chipmunks and squirrels are preparing homes for the winter. Mice, not so photogenic, but fall under the same category. I have heard of this happening, not every day, but it happens. I spent 4 hrs of my afternoon removing 6 (six) squirrels from the heating duct assembly in a Toyota Tacoma. I will spare you the details! This is not just an issue with trucks. For anyone who has a second vehicle that sits in the shade for the better part of the week, or even a daily driver, there is an easy step in preventing this. On your dash within the temp and fan controls you will find a button to to switch from fresh or recirculated air for your cabin. When your vehicle is not in use, make it a habit of switching the air from fresh to recirculate. This will close off an opening that brings the fresh air in from under the windshield wiper area on the vehicle. When critters nest in these places, no good can come of this. The materials used to build their nests can become tangled in your fan motor and make it not very effective or allow it to fail altogether. The odor itself not being very pleasant either!! I have had customers that were startled to a point of panic and lose control of their vehicles. Smell ya later, summer!!
