Just a thought here, Im not taking sides, Im throwing an idea out there to you all. I understand there are a lot of people ticked off at BRCS right now over some kids skipping study hall with notes and getting in trouble. They broke a rule and got punished, I believe unexcused absences are covered in the handbook that everyone signs without reading. I did read mine, do I agree with all of it? no, but I signed it so I will respect it. Anyway, if so many people really dont like the way our campus is set up maybe a committee should be formed and a presentation made to the board (those who set school policy) to change the style of campus we have. If you all want an open campus then you need to go to the board and convince them that it needs to be put up to vote by the public. Getting all ticked off at the administration for following policy is fruitless. A group of people worked together and managed to get a turf field,thats proof things can change, so why not move forward in the same way about open or closed campus? I for one would love to see an open campus where high school students could sign out of study halls and go to a conversation center or game room, or be allowed to leave if they have parental permission. Thats not going to unless people go to the board and convince them to let us vote on it.
