Just finished my second, and last, game of Xia: Legends of a Drift System. 1.) Total random layout creates too many blocked paths 2.) Single 1-x movement system sucks. Either use special dice like Formula De or have each ship with a minimum move (e.g. their impulse) 3.) The NPCs wind up attacking each other. A waste of time. 4.) The lack of empty space and the excessive amount of asteroid fields and nebulas. (I had a Passenger mission where people wanted to move from their life in the asteroids to life in a nebula. Yet, you cannot get energy in either location....Why would anyone want to live in either place?) 5.) Both games depended on a trade route that appeared that made it VERY easy to amass a fortune which won the player first able to take advantage of it the winner.
