Just for info, at work we are replacing the gearbox in a HZJ78, 2nd gearbox at around 250K, we replaced the original factory fitted gearbox at around 120K. rebuilt the old transfer onto the back of new gearbox with new trasfer input shaft, gearbox and shaft genuine Toyota parts. This time it stripped the drive spline where the transfer input slides over the gearbox output shaft. So just beware if you work your HZJ78 hard, this failure can happen with no warning.
