Just got home from the Williamstown fair. I was very disappointed that two members of the fair board squashed a 10 year old tradition in the village. The young fellows in the area have been having a friendly sports competition in which the losing side must face a punishment of the winners choosing. This year the young guns lost and had to wear a Halloween costume to the Meeting place. The board members decided that costumes were offensive and forced the fellows out. None of the costumes were offensive in the least and many villagers were upset as we were anxiously awaiting to see the losing team appear. Unfortunate that a couple of people spoiled the harmless fun of so many others.
