Just in the 2012-2013 Legislative Year, Hon. Tijani Damisa constructed over thirty boreholes across the wards so as to alleviate the problem of water scarcity. The wards are as follows:- in his constituency in Okene; Bariki, Otutu, Orietesu, Lafia/Obessa, Okene-Eba Abuga/Ozuja and Upogoro/Odenku while in Ogori/Magongo Eni, Oshobane, Aiyeromi, Okibo, Okesi, Ileteju, Ugugu, Obinoyen, Obatiben and Oturu-Opou. To support the transformation agenda of both the State and Federal Governments in the Education Sector, Hon. Ahmed Tijani Damisa upgraded the structures at the Queen of Apostle College in Okene by facilitating the building of Two Blocks of fully furnished classroom in 2012. In 2013, he extended a similar gesture to Local Government Secondary School Ohiana also in Okene even though the project is just approaching completion as at today. The standard Primary School in Onyukoko is also witnessing some structural upgrade courtesy of our Modest Interventions just as we facilitated the supply of 110 Laptop Computers to Abdulazeez Atta Memorial College to be shared with other neighbouring schools. He similarly provided 30 desktop computers for students’ for practical in AAAMCO in addition to training over a thousand private beneficiaries in computer appreciation at Diploma Level through a Local Computer Institution, the S.S Computer School in Adavi LGA. On the issue of women and youth empowerment, I am convinced that human capacity development remains the key to unlocking our people’s innate potentials; for it is better to “teach them how to fish than to hand them the fist itself”. In line with this belief, he was successfully engaged over 500 women and youth from Okene and Abuga/Ozuga in entrepreneurship and skills acquisition training in Tailoring, Tilling, Battery Charging, Driving etc in 2013 alone with follow up funding for the establishment of a cooperative society scheme. Additionally, some token was extended to some outstanding participants during this august occasion to enable them establish small scale businesses as a first step towards their socio-economic emancipation. Also he engage some selective youths take advantage of our rich solid mineral potentials, while the youths was trained in small scale mining and supported them with toolkits to enable them take off effectively. Market Women Fund Support Scheme has about 1000 beneficiaries during the grand finale. To be continue……………………….
