Just out today from Atheneum Books is the Young Readers Edition of “Untold History.” My recommendation is ages 12 and up (by Susan Campbell Bartoletti), adapted from our book. This follows October’s release of the 400-page “Concise Untold History.” It is the first of four volumes -- and tries to boil down our history to its most important moments, much of it tragic in its “will to power.” I’ve always felt that younger people don’t like history in school because it’s been Disneyfied and rendered meaningless in U.S. school versions-- with U.S. portrayed as Snow White. Here we’re giving them a little more Jekyll/Hyde with the Evil Queen doing a lot of the poisoning around the world. After all, kids love juicy horror stories. amzn.to/1vDdfHA
