Just saw the movie God is Not Dead with my wife today. Awesome movie, especially for those with lingering doubts about Gods existence. It reminds me of a Philosophy class that I took at the Univ of Ark back in 1972. I disputed some of the teachings and textbook idealogy back then and it reflected in my grade. But it still never changed my mind. I have always believed in God because like in the movie, without God we would not exist. The movie points out that by using every athiests own research and opinions that without exception, they contradict themselves. There are a lot of people who are mad at God or they blame God for all their problems and they cant seem to bring themselves to a place of relationship because they dont feel that God could possibly accept or forgive them for their past. The thing is, God loves every one of us without exception. It doesnt matter what you have done. He loves us so much that he sent his only son to die for us so that if we accept that same son Jesus into our hearts and confess our sins, he will forgive us and we will live with him forever. Now, you may think that a fairy tale, but it is as true as the nose on your face. Jesus did NOT come into the world to condemn the world, but through him the world might be saved. We all have a choice to accept him as I said before. In the past year and a half, I attended 3 funerals: Mike Slagel, Nelson Godwin and Jim Leary. All 3 were Christians and are now in heaven. Nelson and Jim were close friends of mine. I met Mike when he used to work at Skip Fordyce. No one knows why they died, but it was their time to go. Last November, I lived after slamming my body on the pavement in a motorcycle accident. Im no better than any of those 3 men that I mentioned, but it wasnt time for me to go. Maybe there is something that God wants me to do for him before I go. Maybe he wanted me to type out this long personal letter for someone to read and they can make a personal decision. The decision that we all must make is do we choose life or death. Please choose life!
