Just taking a breather with The Way We Were the 1973 American romantic drama which starred Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford directed by Sydney Pollack. It tells the tale of Katie Morosky and Hubbell Gardiner. While their recognizable differences are immense her being a vociferously vocal Marxist Jew with strong anti-war opinions, and he a carefree WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) with no particular political focus they are nonetheless drawn to each other. It is Hubbell (brilliantly portrayed by Redford) with his boyish good looks and his natural writing skill, which she finds captivating and Katie with her conviction and determination to persuade others to take up social causes. There is a poignant moment early in the movie where Streisand gently flips the hair off Redford brow and which is revisited just before the credits roll … Good scrip, excellent acting and the hauntingly beautiful voice of Streisand made this an unforgettable movie for me https://youtube/watch?v=f8TflIIfuhs
