Just want everyone to know that today is an important date in my new career working for Southwest Airlines. Im off of probation!! I am still bewildered after passing a difficult training which the pressure is greater then training as a new police recruit. You have to Master all phases of safety, security and service or you will be asked to leave. Things like tardiness are not accepted and even if you are a minute late you are released. Unlike current police academys, which now want to give chance after chance trying to gain more officers at the expense of whats important. At Southwest Airlines, where it is difficult to get hired, the demand is high to become a member. It is actually more difficult to be hired at Southwest then be admitted to Harvard University. Since there is a high demand the company can then weed out those who do not understand the importance of Safety and Service. Today I am officially off of probation where anyone could be dismissed for any reason. During probation there is an understanding that if you did not meet the standards of Southwest then you will not be retained. Congratulations 284!! A great feeling as we are getting information that in 2015 we will be hiring around 1200 more Flight Attendants and HOU will be expanding with a lot of International destinations and about 2000 Flight Attendants!!
