Just watched one of those car crash compilation videos and remembered that car wrecks are the real deal so here are some general driving tips that you already know: • Always be alert • Be ready for unexpected events (blowouts, cars drifting/swerving, debris, etc) • Watch closely/intelligently for motorcycles/bicyclists/pedestrians/Segwayists; generally be very cautious that you arent directing your vehicle toward stationary things or into the paths of other moving objects • Be extra careful at intersections; never assume that somebody wont be driving through a stop sign or red light • Dont try to pass cars on icy, two-lane roads in Russia because youll probably get hit head-on by an 18-wheeler • Dont get hit head-on by an 18-wheeler • Always drive with your headlights on (especially at dawn and dusk); dont drive a black car (especially at dawn and dusk) • Leave a generous space cushion between your car and any car in front of you (including while stopped at lights/signs/etc.) • Be prepared for other vehicles to do anything and generally dont expect anybody to not do stuff that causes crashes • Joke 4 So there you go! Be cautious out there and really get into the role of seeing yourself not just as somebody navigating a shiny box forward – and occasionally backward – while trying to not smash into things, but rather as a component of a larger system populated by flawed individuals operating unreliable machines in a dynamic environment...it actually makes driving a lot more interesting when your brain is working hard to analyze the experience of driving and you can constantly refine your understanding of the process also just dont crash
