Just witnessed a very selfless act that spiraled into me doing the very same thing. The man in front of me at the grocery store looked very frail and had hospital bracelets on, so I can only assume that he had just gotten out of the hospital and he was trying to get some groceries to take home. He had a $20 bill in his hand and I thought surely he knows he has more than $20 worth of groceries? The cashier tabulated everything and it came to $37.05. He only had the $20. While he was trying to figure out if he had more money to pay, the lady behind me stepped up and said she would cover the additional $17.05 he had overspent. I love seeing people helping other people, and paying it forward is the best way that I can think of to do that. So I offered to pay for the things she had. The cashier was very surprised at both of our acts of kindness; the man had tears running down his face because somebody stepped up to help their fellow man. The man was speechless for a minute and then pipes up, God bless you and thank you! Do something small for someone else today. You never know how that small thing can mean a lot to someone else. Pay it forward people!
