Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to stop having the post cult nightmares. I had such a bad one last night I woke up shaking. I think I might need to investigate the possibility that I have some underlying PTSD from being stalked by the elders and the trauma of the judicial committee meeting, but also, Ive been out, disfellowshipped for ten years. Seems like I should be OK with it all but the fear of retaliation for being outspoken as an apostate seems to translate to nightmares of being tortured and having my family held hostage, being surrounded by all the jws from my past and being slowly crushed to death, and sometimes its simpler like Im trying to tell my dad and sister that they are in danger and suddenly I am literally invisible. I have a lot of dreams that the jws who are sweet and kind initially suddenly turn into zombies and start tearing at my flesh. May be just symbolic of being shunned, like a physical manifestation of the pain I am in. Anyone else plagued by scary dreams that are clearly post jw cult in nature? Anyone know how to make them stop?
