KHYIs wonderful and talented air personality, Allan Peck, will be inducted into the Texas Music Hall of Fame this Saturday, Nov. 16. Congratulations Allan! We love you! Allan Peck Sr. and Penny Reeves: In the 1970s, when Peck and Penny debuted on DFW’s KBOX -- after evolving from chit-hate between the male morning DJ and the female traffic reporter -- they helped open the door to the radio boys’ club a little further. After three years, Reeves headed to Austin, where she was “The Afternoon Delight” on KVET from ’76-’84, and returned five years later for as the midday personality. Reeves was also an active ambassador for the radio station, helping countless charities and organizations from the ‘70s though the ‘90s. Peck remained in DFW, and has worked KIXK, WBAP and KSCS, and he has been an air personality at Plano’s KHYI for 17 years. He has been awarded the CMA Personality of the Year Award, and has been named Billboard Magazine’s DJ of the Year. trhof.net/
