It Was A Double Dose Of Headbanging Rock And Nostalgia Live At The BOK Center 8/29/2014 When Def Leppard Joined The Hottest Band In The World KISS Along With Their Massive KISS Army For A Fun, Lively Show, To Say The Least. For Those Who Have Not Seen A Live KISS Concert It Is A Very Special Pyro & Fire Explosive Spectacle. It Was My First Time, And You Hear & Read Stories But To See This Live Was Un-Real To Say The Least. The Production And Loud Guitar Riffs And Energy of Twenty Year Old Men Coming From Rock Gods Way Into Their 60s Were All beyond all My Expectations. The Dead Daisies Opened The Night I Will Never Forget Anytime Soon And Their Sound Was Strong, With Impressive, Long Guitar Solos From Multiple Members A Great Opening Set & Performance By This Little Un-Known Rock Band. Next To Hit The Stage Starting The Un-Real Double Bill Concert With KISS Was Def Leppard The Sold-Out Crowd Went Wild During Def Leppard Crowd Favorites Like Animal, Foolin, And Rock of Ages And Pour Some Sugar on Me. Def Leppard Lead Singer Joe Elliott Showed His Strength With His Raspy, Deep Range And High Rock Screams Like No Other. It Had That Classic Hard Rock Sound With The Soaring Guitar, Basic Vocal Harmonies From All Of The Def Leppard Members And Pounding Drum Work By Their One Arm Drummer Rick Allen Doing Things Most Drummers With Two Arms Could Not Do It To Watch Rick Allen Work Was Very Impressive And A Thrill To Watch. Def Leppard Showed Several Videos And Photos From Their Early Days As A Band In The Late 1970s And 1980 Which The Sold-Out Crowd Loved With The Classic Sounds Of Their Youth. But The Same Also Goes For KISS, There Were Plenty Of People Who Were Not Yet Born When These Two Bands Were Churning Out Hits And Dominating Radios Worldwide. The Sol-Out Arena Cheered Loud And Hard Throughout Both Shows. Probably The Loudest Applause Of The Night Came When Def Leppard Lead Singer Joe Elliott Said That $1 For Each Ticket Sold Throughout Their Entire Sold-Out Summer Tour With KISS Would Be Donated To The Wounded Warrior Project, Which Aids Those Military Members Who Were Injured During The Wars In Iraq And Afghanistan. They Have Been Able To Provide Housing For A Family Already With The Money Raised For The Tour, Elliott Said. Then A Small Intermission Gave Stage Hands Time To Assemble To The Giant Spider-Like Stage For KISS While Others Unfurled Banners That Read KISS ARMY And KISS Across The Front Of The Stage On A Giant Black Curtain Hiding All The Behind The Scenes Action Of The Start Of The Massive KISS Concert About To Begin. Then The World Known Start To Any KISS Concert Is Said You Wanted The Best And You Got The Best The Hottest Band In The World KISS. The Black Curtain With A Massive Silver KISS Logo Drops And Their Is KISS Standing Tall & Pround On Top Of Their Giant Massive Spider Performing Their KISS Smash Hit Psycho Circus Desending To The Stage As The Sold-Out Crowd Went Wild. It Was Intense And Extreme With Pyro & Fire And Tons Of Explosions By KISS — Who Were Just Inducted Into The 2014 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame In April — Kept High Throughout The Entire Concert With-Out A Break. KISS Gave The Sold-Out Crowd Everything They Has Screaming Electrifying Guitar Work And Pulsing Drums Flooded The Arena With Awesome Solos From The Spaceman Tommy Thayer Who Also Shoots Three Rockets From His Guitar Later In The Show And The Starchild Paul Stanley Sometime Literally Lighting Up The Arena Just With His Voice. A Song That Didnt Include Explosions, Fire And Flashing Lights Was An Outlier The KISS Smash Hit Hide Your Heart. The Pyrotechnics Went Off In A Dazzling & Bright Explosion So Often It Seemed As Though They Never Stopped Especially At The Beginning, That It Seemed To Double As Another Drum Beat Through Every KISS Song. How KISS Were Able To Perform & Run And Scream While Wearing Those Elaborate And Intense Costumes Is A True Mystery. After 40 Years Rocking Hard Across The World, The Leaders Of The KISS Army Proved Friday Night They Still Put On A Show Like None Other And None Ever Will Again Its Like KISS Has Been Re-Born. KISS Co-Founder Lead Singer Paul Stanley Stated To The Sold-Out Crowd Weve Been Coming To Tulsa For A Long, Long Time, With His Iconic Black Star Against The White Face And Bright Red Lips Also Stated Weve Been Coming Here Since Before Some Of You Were Born. Looking Around The Arena He Was Right Four Decades Of KISS Fans Of All Ages Rocked The Arena. While The Guitar Work Was Explosive The Vocals Were Drowned Out At Some Points But It Didnt Matter Although whenKISS Sang Together It Was Much clearer. KISS Transformed Into A Spectacle Of Nightmare Glam Rock When The One And Only Demon Gene Simmons blew Fire And Of Course When He Stood Alone On A Dark Stage Performing His Iconic Bass Solo Complete With Massive Spitting Blood All Over Himself Then Flew Up To The Massive Giant Spider At The Top Of The Arena With His Deep, Penetrating Bass Guitar Shaking The Entire Arena To Perform The KISS Smash Hit God Of Thunder. The Starchild Paul Stanley Also Took Flight Flying Over The Sold-Out Crowd To Another Smaller Stage To Perform The KISS Smash Hit Love Gun Then Returning To The Main Stage The Same Way Flying Over The Crowd After His Intro Part Of The KISS Smash Hit Black Diamond For A Man In His 60s Doing This Is Nothing Short Of Amazing And These Are Just A Few Of Many Un-Real Stunts Performed By KISS Making A KISS Concert A Must See After All This Iam A KISS Fan. KISS Performed Most Of Their Smash hits And Crowd Favorites Including Shout it Out Loud, Lick it Up, God of Thunder, Detroit Rock City And Rock and Roll All Nite With A Few Surprises Great Job KISS. If There Was Enough Explosions In The Building & Time I Think Def Leppard & KISS And The Sold-Out Crowd Would Have Loved To Rock And Roll All Night.
