KUDOS to Dixie Crystals!!! Their 10# pure cane sugar bags are clearly marked this package is 100% recyclable. So important to applaud companies who 1> ensure their packaging is recyclable and 2> include a label stating so. Even more important: use YOUR power of consumer demand to insist companies begin taking both measures. WARNING: many labels say made from 100% recycled material. - this copy does not mean the package is recyclable. In my viewpoint, these labels may fall into greenwashing category as they can be deceptive. Such is the case with a strong portion of the restaurant to go containers. Even Whole Foods Market uses such a container made from recyclable material that is plastic lined - thus, is landfill destined or a contaminant in recycling (mill or compost) systems. There are compostable alternatives available. Anne Tate Saturna Bedarf, care to chime in here? Also, is Dixie Crystals a member of How2Recycle? If not, they seem a primo prospect. YEA, now I can recycle the sugar bag sitting on my desk for over a week until I wrote this post.
