THESE LIFE-LONG COMPANIONS, BOTH 16 YEARS OLD AND VERY SWEET, WERE DUMPED AT CASTAIC SHELTER (L.A., CA) BECAUSE THEIR FAMILY MOVED. I was just about to post them as a pair because who would split up cats that have been together for 16 years, when I noticed Kovu was no longer listed. I called the shelters call center and found out Kovu was adopted. Why would someone do that? Now Simba is alone for the first time in his life. His family is gone, his BFF is gone; his home, his sense of security, his peace...all gone. We have to find a home for Simba tomorrow. We cant let this poor kitty spend another night in the shelter (after tonight). Please read Bridgets plea below (obviously things have changed since she wrote it). She spent time with the kitties and took video (link below). Im so upset the cats were separated. Someone please take Simba home. Dont waste a second...SHARE Simba. You never know who will see your share and want to save this senior! Liking the post is nice, but SHARING SAVES LIVES. Remember...I do not allow pledging on my threads. Bridgets Plea: We have an extremely urgent situation. Two seniors, 16 yrs. old and likely littermates, were dumped at the shelter. Family got a new house and can’t take them??? Both seem healthy and very social. They are described as lap cats and do not look senior at all. In fact, it is difficult to believe they are 16 yrs. I’m including a video and the facebook link. Would love to get this duo out of the shelter. Castaic is full and they don’t keep seniors long if they are not generating interest. Please share them. I have found that pledges, while helpful to rescues, create friction, judgement, animosity, hostility, and distractions. Pledges attract disreputable rescuers and mislead private adopters who believe they are entitled to the funds. Pledgers will still have the opportunity to donate to the rescues that save the animals they choose to support, as once an animal has been rescued I will post paypal instructions. Its my hope this policy will stop the fighting on the threads which distracts from the mission of saving animals and intimidates people who want to help. NOTE: I am not a rescuer, I dont pull animals from shelters. My role is to spread the word about animals in danger. I dont coordinate rescues. I dont arrange transport, but if I have contacts I will help. Once the animal is rescued I will post a paypal address or donation information if provided.
