Kat Moon is going to have the Christmas from hell when she discovers the secret her husband has been desperately trying to hide. Fans know that Alfie was the person who started the fire at their house that led to Kat ending up in hospital with devastating burns. But so far, even though Stacey Slater knows the truth, Alfie has managed to keep it a secret from his wife. That looks set to change in the build up to the festive holidays when the truth comes out, with devastating consequences. The drama kicks off the week before Christmas when the couple are told they have to move out of the flat they’ve been living in. Kat’s desperate plea to the landlord to let her family stay is unsuccessful and they are told to be out by lunchtime. When Kat refuses to leave, the police turn up and Mick asks Stacey to help. Stacey eventually manages to get through to Kat and the defeated Moon family finally walk away from the flat. Later, Kat and Alfie attend an appointment at the council office however their optimism soon turns to gloom when the council officer tells them the waiting list for a council house in Walford is a long time. The officer tells them there are some houses available in Hull however, as Kat and Alfie make a life-changing decision, nothing prepares them for the future they’re about to face when Kat finally discovers the truth about Alfie.
