† Keep it Underfoot †But Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah. 2 Chronicles 32:25–26 ESv As a woman, many times in my life the Lord has helped me humble myself by doing a job that no one else wanted to do. He let others wrong me or deny me the appreciation that I thought so deserved. Other times I have dealt with a sin or bad attitude, only to have it show up again later. Sins like pride are hard to keep behind you. In fact, any sin is. You can never finally say “I have dealt with ____ for the last time” because it will try and return when you least expect it. Stay on guard against anything that you have been weak to and keep it underfoot.
