Keeping the body guessing is not a good way to get fit. A trainer doesn’t need to teach you something new every day. What they do need to teach you is how to do something better. All of the most important movements you can do in the gym should come rather naturally. Perhaps you still know how to perform them or maybe your body has forgotten over years of inactivity or improper use. Either way, what’s most important is learning how to generate as much tension throughout a proper movement as possible. Trainers don’t need to teach fancy new exercises. Instead, they must focus on teaching you how you should be feeling throughout a movement.
