Kelvis Ochoawas born into a musical family in #Cuba and grew up on Isla de la Juventud, Cuba , a small island near Havana. Ochoa started gaining attention outside of Cuba both for his versatile voice and his shocking red hair and goatee. He helped form the band Habana Abierta, which quickly became one of the hottest contemporary Cuban groups of the 90s. Havana native Descemer Bueno is considered a genius of modern Cuban music, and he made his name with the New York Latin funk group Yerba Buena before becoming a successful producer and songwriter. In 2007, these two Cuban music powerhouses joined forces on an album entitled Amor y Música (Love and Music), which pretty much sums up the lyrical content and mood of the romantic ballads it features, including “Ojos Negros” (Black Eyes) featured on Putumayos Cafe del Mundo.
