Kindly read this post only if you agree with the fact that the future of an OFFICER (so called) in Syndicate Bank is DARK (though I strongly believe it’s not bright at present also) I am in a Central Government Job (according to my family – think differently) Yes! I am in a Central Govt job because I, my seniors, My Management (again so called), My Institution listens (and only listens) to Central Govt……. I substantiate my view with the following points/ Examples (classic examples) 1. One of GM said “this is transition time in our bank as young officers are joining after a period of 25 to 30 years”, the reason for non recruitment was CENTRAL GOVT did not give permission, the result is an officer after 3 years of service is given scale 2, sent to manage 50, 60, 100 crore branch, without even knowing how to credit pension arrears (and bigger irony is without any formal training about whatever he/she has to do), a officer worked in city branch for 3 years now on promotion sent to inspection department and sent to my rural branch (didn’t knew what is 825 and 839 products) yet after another 2 years he becomes scale 3 and manages 150 cr branch – are we not screwing him/ her (in earlier days from 1 to 2 minimum experience was 10 years) - WE LISTEN TO CENTRAL GOVT – “GM says what to do they gave permission recently” – was our management sleeping or had no vision (I believe the later is true) 2. In my previous branch I had around 30,000 SB accounts, 7000 SKCC accounts, every 2 to 3 months amounts ranging from 2000 to 10000 were credited to around 7000 accounts by Govt departments in the name of some subsidy/subvention, and I had to distribute the same on war footing – we asked for a ATM, my RO replied issue more than 3000 ATM cards and you get a ATM machine – there was no ATM machine in a radius of 40 kms why would a customer take a card from me, then comes a rules by CENTRAL GOVT every branch should have a onsite ATM, now my present RO installs a ATM in my present branch and the hits are 2 to 5 per day because --- WE LISTEN TO CENTRAL GOVT 3. Central Govt said open accounts under PMJDY – we said a big OK, and branches started opening accounts with account opening applications, without man power, without connectivity – Solution given – use GEFU – now where did your CIM51, CIM50, CIM09 etc etc gone – Oh as Central Govt has said I need not check the customers with that terrorist list, I need not have a introduction, I need not have specified account opening application – GREAT again who are we “we are the people who listen to CENTRAL GOVT” 4. The business of our bank was a quarter less to 2 lakh crore in 2010, now it’s a quarter less to 4.0 lakhs crore in 2014, the bank which took 85 years for the quantum made it in 4 years – who is responsible – young officers or economic conditions or fall in value of money or all the above or the only old officer 5. Central Govt said open branches is rural areas (definition of a rural branch in syndicate bank is – a area which is not connected by either road/rail/air transport, there should not be hotels/even tea stalls, there should not be houses available for officer to stay – so what does a officer do, take a quarters at a place away might by 15 to 25 kms – in the sanction letter condition (printed in bold letter) “travel from the place of stay to branch is not considered on duty” – that means if a meet with a accident while going or coming to branch I get GHANTA and nothing from bank, AGAIN GOVT RULES 6. Some insurance company makes the rules for cash remittances to be made by branches, and we follow blindly – Ex for 3 lakhs cash I have to take a TRUNK sized 3’X3’X2’ (or else I will not be covered under Insurance), upto 20 lakhs go by public transport – why my life is less valued than your money {yes the reason its public money and govt says follow rules} 7. We receive IP message “according to Govt rules – this is to be done, that is to be done, formats are to be changed, Ret2 should be system generated, give data for 3 years for IT returns, its statutory requirement – as everything we have to listen of them – we are in central Govt job – the resultant we should not use our brains. 8. Recently a IP messages appears on my desktop “according to RBI, we have to give 1600/- per gram for JL, have a LTV of 65% and bla bla bla, why we didn’t knew the prices of gold are falling/ disturbing –“the MANTRA listen to CENTRAL GOVT” Sorry guys, I can write a book of 200 pages on HOW MY LIFE IS SCREWED but I can’t waste your time making to read this, because we all know and understand what I am trying to express Yes, A single word definition to my situation would be FRUSTRATION And yes I forgot the SALARY and the WAGE REVISION aspect – anyhow that’s not on the priority list of any stake holder but for the poor/helpless OFFICER (So called)
