#LA: #LOSANGELES INTERNATIONAL #AIRPORT (#LAX) RUNWAY 24L/06R CLOSURES EVERY OTHER SATURDAY - 12 AM TO 4 PM, March 8-June 28 Starting this weekend, Los Angeles World Airports will begin replacing the existing Distance Remaining Signs along Runway 24L/06R. This sign replacement will require closing the said runway starting on Saturday, March 8th from midnight to 4 PM. Thereafter the closure is scheduled to continue occurring every other Saturday for the same timeframe until June 28th. Persons living near the airport may notice a change in aircraft flight activity and noise during these Saturday closures. As the north inboard runway 24L/06R is closed, more aircraft are expected to use the north outboard runway, 24R/06L, for departure and arrival operations. The closures may also affect operations on the south complex, especially for Airport Design Group VI aircraft, such as the Boeing 747-800 and the Airbus A380, which will then need to depart on the south outboard runway 25L. LAX will continue to conduct normal Over-Ocean Operations at night during these closures if weather and other operational conditions permit.
