LATE RELEASE OF RESULTS OF NAAA DEVELOPMENT MEETS. The results - TopicsExpress

LATE RELEASE OF RESULTS OF NAAA DEVELOPMENT MEETS. The results for the first three NAAA Development Meets for 2014 have been released some three days after the completion of the events. The first meet was held on January 12 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain while the results were not posted on the NAAAs website until January 16. The results of the second meet (Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima on January 19) were available from Wednesday 22 with the third meet held on January 25 (Hasely Crawford Stadium) are yet to be posted. The late releasing of results has been a problem since 2013 when NAAA Secretary Allan Baboolal said then that there was not pre-registration and entries were taken on the day and hencethe completion of the results cannot be done on the same day. When contacted earlier this week Baboolal said when the results are ready the media will get it. Emails were sent to President Ephraim Serrette and Public Relations Officer Peter Samuel but so far there has been no response. In the meanwhile, athletes performances go unrecognized as getting the results on the day of the meet is usually an uphill task as getting past Baboolal to get information is nearly impossible. In addition, the results posted on the NAAAs website are not collated and hence our Track Alerts team has to sit down and spend close to two days to sort to results according to age group and top times as some track events have several heats, some as many as seven.
