LATEST NEWS The winner of Sunday’s 15 hole competition was Liam Casey with 35 points. Joan Moran won the ladies’ weekly 9 hole competition with 22 points. Yvonne Waldron was in second place with 20 points. P. J. Moran was the winner of the Over 55s Thursday competition. John Neilan was in second place and Tom Costello was in third place. Mairead Scanlon won the ladies’ competition and Margaret Brennan was in second place. Bretta McCarty was in third place and Mary Lalor was in fourth place. The entry sheet for the men’s Spring League is on the notice board and there is still plenty of time to enter as the qualifying rounds run from now until February 21st. The entry sheet for the ladies’ Spring League is on the notice board and the closing date for entries is 30th January. Ladies interested in taking part in the Lá Fhéile Bríde social evening, which takes place on Friday 30th January at 7 pm, should enter their names on the sheet on the notice board. On next Sunday, 18th January, the new golfing year officially starts when President Cathal McConn, Lady Captain Marie McManus and Captain Ken Kearney step onto the 1st tee for the Drive-In. Immediately after they hit off there will be a three-person (any combination) scramble with a shot gun start at 2 pm. There is a time sheet for the scramble on the men’s notice board. Members please come along to offer your support to the new officers. If there are members who haven’t paid their subscription please do so as soon as possible. Subscriptions can be paid by cheque, in cash, online or by direct debit.
