Nov. 9th. From 8AM to 4PM. Fall Open Houses –Nov. 16 Students may register at kwc.edu/visit or by calling the KWC Admissions Office at 800-999-0592 *************************************************************************************ATTN: Seniors KSBA Scholarship $2500 Due Nov. to Coach Brooks Nov. 1st Eligibility Nominees must be: A high school senior intending to go to college; 1) From an immediate family (parents, guardians, siblings) who has not earned a college degree; 2) Have obtained an ACT reading score of at least 20 as a junior or senior. 3) The one-page application with ACT reading score, age, address and verification that there is no college graduate among immediate family must be signed by guidance counselor, board chairman and superintendent. Governors Scholars--Governor’s Scholars Applications are due to Mrs. Hallman by December 3rd. Go online to gsp.ky.gov/. ********************************************************************************** ATTN: SOPHOMORES Opportunities for Sophomores HOBY-HOBY stands for Hugh OBrian Leadership Seminar. This is an opportunity to participate in unique leadership training, service learning and motivation-building experiences. The seminar is held on Transylvania University’s campus from May 30th-June 2nd. Go to hoby.org for more information. Interested students should see Mrs. Hallman or Mrs. Speck by November 1st. You must have a current physical on file at the school. If you need a physical, please see Coach Crawford or Coach Gardner. ***************************************************************************** ATTN: ALL The weight room will be open every Tuesday and Friday after school until 4:15 for the rest of the semester until Christmas Break. This is for anyone who wants to come work out. All students must have an up to date physical on file in order to lift. ***************************************************************************** ATTN: ALL Anyone that knows of a student that has done volunteer work in the last year and would like to nominate that student for the 2014 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. The local nominee is eligible for state recognition, a $1000 award and a trip to Washington, DC. To nominate someone see the poster outside the guidance office or see one of the counselors.
