LEFTFIELD & SHPONGLE — The Ozorian Chill Dome features a really wide range of EDM genres each year, from ambient through psydub and minimal techno all the way to house. This summer awaits us with two especially significant formations from this subculture, presenting DJ sets that prove time has no hold on trailblazers. Not many artists can say that a certain style is primarily connected to their name; but Leftfield is one of them. The piquancy to the story that started in the 90’s is that the style connected to their name is not ‘leftfield’ (e.g. Juno Reactor), but rather defined as a fusion of house with dub and reggae, labeled progressive house. The duo will be represented by Neil Barnes, who has recently reactivated himself in live performances as well, while working on a new album with his partner, Paul Daley. When it comes to epoch-making, we can’t leave out SHPONGLE either. They are one of the main progenitors of the psybient genre with the fusion of ambient, world music and psychedelic trance. Raja Ram in the Chill will definitely show us what the recipe of the elixir of eternal youth is.
