LESSON ON WINNING (FROM JULIUS CAESAR.) When Julius Caesar landed on the shores of Britain with his Roman legions. His soldiers felt they were unmatched against the British Soldiers. Fear took hold of them. Many of them felt it was better that they retreat. Julius Caesar took a very daring move to ensure the success of his military venture. He ordered his men to march to the edge of the Cliffs of Dover and asked them to look down at the water below. To their amazement, they saw every ship in which they had crossed the channel engulfed in flames. Caesar had deliberately cut off any possibility of retreat. Now that his soldiers were unable to return to the continent, there was nothing left for them to do but to advance and conquer (or die!) And that was exactly what they did. The Roman Soldiers defeated and conquered the British soldiers they had previously feared. (A near impossible feat)Reason? They had no choice other than to ' Conquer or die'. No retreat! No Surrender!!. Lesson: Our greatest strength is realized when failure and defeat is not an option!!! Burn the Bridge of Retreat
