LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Editor, Allow me to appeal to our Nchelenge MP, all former Chisenga Primary School students, NGOs and wellwishers to come on board and help rehabilitate the now-collapsing school infrastructure. This school was built in 1945 and the structures have far outlived their lifespan. Your help to this ‘island’ school in Luapula will be highly appreciated. Mwape John Editor, The rate of moral decay in our country is alarming. We seriously need God’s intervention in this matter before all of us lose it. Concerned Editor, It is good that our national team second-choice goalkeeper, Toaster Nsabata, has admitted that he made mistakes that cost the team. I, therefore, urge coaches not to be rushing young players to the senior team. Let us allow them gain experience with junior teams. Experience matters. Mike, Kitwe Editor, I would like to commend the education minister on his countrywide visit of schools. I would further like to ask him to visit Mwayasunka Primary School in Chibombo and offer advice on administrative matters. chiko Mwila Editor, I have noticed that in all our communities, there are either eye clinics or hospitals. Is there any ear clinic or hospital in Zambia? If so, help me with details. Anthony Nyirongo, Kabwe Editor, News that the government will buy equipment for the Sondashi formula is very welcome. Once the drug is proven to be working, it will have positive effect on our economy. I can imagine the number of people who will flock to this country to seek medication, as well as the volume of exports which will earn us foreign exchange. SKC, Masaiti Editor, I would like to appeal to management of the school that runs a big, yellow school bus in Libala to seriously counsel the driver against speeding and general road safety. On several occasions, particularly during morning pick-ups, I have seen the bus driven at high speed on Kasama Road in Libala South. Let’s not wait for a tragedy. Prevention is better than cure. Concerned Editor, I was surprised to hear that Alexander Imich, born in 1903, is ranked the world’s oldest man. My great grandfather born in 1902 is still alive. Or is it the lack of birth records in Africa then that would cast his age in doubt? Kalaluka, Mongu Editor, My concern is about the rising number of traffic offenders being convicted for driving under influence, dangerous driving, unlicensed driving and careless driving. This calls for serious change of attitude among our drivers. This is a matter of life and death. Concerned
