LIBERALS The Heart Is In The Right Place, BUT..... Williamson writes about Detroit. All of the policies of the last 50 years pushed by liberal politicians had great intentions to help the people. Well, maybe not all but at least most of them were advertised as a means to help the average citizen. But like all government programs, the unintended consequences overwhelm what little goodness might have been intentioned. The result? Disaster in the highest from. Detroit is a true basket case. Recovery to its former glory might well take a century, particularly if the same policies are not reversed soon. These misguided policies either come from politicians trying to get reelected or trying to get rich at taxpayer expense. Or maybe just stupidity. But in any case, democracy fails when the tyranny of the majority keeps voting for more goodies. The only reason democracy has worked for over 200 years is a strong constitution that has kept the rights of the minorities (in this case, the more well-do-to) from being ruined through popular vote. America is following in the same footsteps as Detroit with Obama wanting to equalize pay. People are not equal, that is what made America great. We allowed the ambitious and talented to succeed.
