LODUNGOKWE AWK EYE Do you know that this area do not have a police station or post? I know some will mistake an AP post with a police post,despite of the APS absorbed to NPS but actually services provided by this two arms are slightly different.A police post is more reliable because for any matter arising it is entered in an OB and the complainant is served with an OB number for easy reference.Now the resident of this area and its environs rely on the AP post which is manned by under strength officers who execute their duties in the mercy of GOD. How can they deploy officers to such place which has no proper mobile network, communication gadgets?! leave about radio operation room which is a past tense to them they depend on the now MCAS office to address their clients....i wonder what will happen to these officers in times of distress which need rapid response? thanks to meibae conservancy for providing their officers with some UHF sets and control center with a signaler.If it is not them most of the area could be living in worry due to sporadic attacks from the bandits and highway robbers. i just post this as a disaster preparedness with no intent to intimidate,provoke or cause unrest to anyone and anybody reading this post to tell our ward MCA to push for a police post in this area reason is that we are developing at high speed and when population grow crime tend to rise with it and according to the law a case must be taken to police within 24hrs but most of the crimes committed in this area are dropped just because we rely on wamba police station which is located 42kms from the center. Our APS are performing to their best but their standing orders do not allow them to have cells hence they only arrest but do not put the criminal in a custody what they do, a criminal is kept for one hour and released for fear of attack by members of public who are against the arrest of their person.Officers are not allocated with a police vehicle despite of their wider area of command hence restricting their mobility.Meibae vehicle should not be used as a scapegoat to deny these officers a police vehicle which is a must for them else dont blame them for slow response. Our area chief is a bright and brave man i hope someone will show him the post these officers will have something to smile off.I personally blame their county DAPC for dumping them with no ration,comm equipment,vehicle etc. Therefore,when the above issues are addressed wamba police station will get a relief from many cases reported to them forcing them to withdraw some due to non appearance of the complainants and insufficient evidence from the witnesses. We can never say that the fruits of devolution is felt here when all emergency cases still depend on stapol wamba he may be fast to respond but 42kms is along distance to cover at a short time though, he may send his junior officers but before they cover the distance everything has gone in a mess.......
