LONELY, SELFISH, DEPRESSED, DEMANDING: the god of one-ness - TopicsExpress

LONELY, SELFISH, DEPRESSED, DEMANDING: the god of one-ness Pentecostalism and Islam These two popular idols are said to be both loving and single person gods. But the implications would be: 1)Loneliness: if in eternity past this god were a single person and relational it would be lonely since it had no other person to love. 2)Selfish: if it were actually loving then, it could only express its love inwardly toward itself. Thus, it would be a totally selfish god. 3)Depressed: if it were like this then, the only reason it would create a world would be too meet its need of fellowship. Which means the ultimate motive for creation would be depression. 4)Demanding: such a lonely, selfish, depressed view of god leads right on to a god who is a taking god rather than a giving god. It would not be a giver of grace but a demander of performance. Thus, it would be demanding. Conclusion: turn from this pitiful sick idol to the Living God of Scripture, of heaven and earth, who created not to shore up some need but out of the overflow of His being. And you will find this God was never lonely, since there was always fellowship in the Trinity. Nor then is this God selfish, since the love was always in the Trinity. Nor then is this God depressed, since the fellowship in the Trinity is blessed joy. Nor then does this God demand you to perform, since there is has always been outward giving in the Trinity. So put your faith in Christ not demanding works of law such as dresses, no make up, long hair, prayers, trips to Mecca, etc... And worship the true God.
