LOVED our first e-mail from Elder Benton ...After i got to the MTC and got my tags and stuff I said goodbye to Elder Timm because I got sent to live at west campus. West campus is part of the byu housing and the church uses it to house the missionaries also. The cool thing about west campus is that is is made up of all spanish speaking sisters and elders so we can get lots of practice speaking to each other. West campus is a few block away from the main MTC campus. This mooring we went to the Provo temple and did a session there. that was cool to go to the temple with the missionaries in my branch. We missed our bus back to the MTC and so we all decided to walk back instead of wait 30 minutes for the next bus to show up. As we walked back we sang church hymens. the funny thing is right before we got back to the West Campus entrance the bus that would of picked us up had we waited pulled is so it took us about 35 minutes to walk from the Temple to West Campus. So later today we get to teach our first investigator in spanish which is crazy because we dont know a whole lot of spanish and the lesson is supposed to last 30 minutes. Okay so it does get pretty cold here in the morning but its alright if you just wear you long sleeve white shirt. I share my dorm room with 5 other Elders. there is Elder Johnson who is my Companion here at the MTC he is from Oregon. then there is elder Taylor, Elder Southwick, Elder Hunt, and Elder Willis. Elder Willis is really funny and he can do lots of impressions and he will randomly start singing he is a fun guy to be around. Back to my companion he is pretty good, today i found out it was he second time going through the temple. He needed some help in some areas but he did well. Sorry Im jumping around with a lot of information but my mind keeps on racing on everything that has happened so far. On the first night that we got here we took a bus to a church building where they put us in groups of 30 missionaries and as a big group we taught investigators that was a lot of fun. We were told to teach by the spirit and I can definitely tell that the spirit was with us that night. It feels so good to be here the days seem long but so far only being here for 3 days I can feel my testimony strengthen. My prayers are more sincere as i am finding out that i am becoming more dependent on the Lord and in the Holy Ghost. The food is good here but you need to be careful because it is all you can eat and I can already tell that some of the missionaries in my district are going to have there pants get a little tighter as the weeks go on. I am doing okay with the language so far but the Teacher speaks mostly in just spanish so its hard to understand him sometimes but he is really nice and will do his best to help you when you need it... So thrilled to hear from him and see that hes doing so great.
