Lapeer District Library holds a myth busters program LAPEER, MI – Are you a huge fan of the MythBusters television show? Then the Lapeer District Library has the program for you! There will be a myth busters program on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 6 p.m. at the Marguerite deAngeli Branch Library (921 W. Nepessing Street, Lapeer). You will be able to test whether your stomach would explode if you ate two particular items, whether two other items mix to form a geyser, or whether two common household items can act as both a liquid and a solid when they are combined. Participants (this program is appropriate for ages ten and older) will be divided into teams and will have to decide whether five myths are true or false. Then each team will be able to perform experiments to see if their guess is correct, or not. Each team will get a point for each right answer and the team with the most points wins. Refreshments will be served at this program. There is limited space for this free program and registration is required. To register for this program or for more information, contact the fiction desk at the Marguerite deAngeli Branch Library at (810) 664-6971. This event is part of the Lapeer District Library’s teen summer reading program, Spark a Reaction and is sponsored by the Friends of the Marguerite deAngeli Library. Serving 60,006 residents throughout Lapeer County, the Lapeer District Library and the Family Literacy Center are partners for literacy.
