Last folio for the semester, The In Explicable Women. “The reasons for trails growing cold are often inevitable – lack of evidence, resources and poor investigation play key roles in a case’s disintegration. There is no set time an investigation is considered ‘cold’. Rather, the probability of solving the crime after 72 hours seems bleak and after a year there remains only a slither of hope. In a time where violence against women is at an all time high and technological advances are vastly improving it seems rare for a case to remain unsolved. However, there are over 160 cold cases open in Queensland to date. Within that figure there are an abundance of women that where brought to cowardly, malicious ends who will seemingly, never have justice. Instead, their last moments are now trapped in sites that will serve constant reminders to those left behind that their killer is still out there, living a full life, while their mothers, girlfriends daughters and friends have had theirs cut tragically short."
