Last night one of my neighbors checked out - died peacefully in his sleep. His name was Gary Curry and he was one of the coolest people Ive ever crossed paths with. He was 60 years old - very well known on the Ultra-Marathon circuit (the races that are like 100 miles long and only crazy people run). Gary lived just a few doors down... he was in the middle of building his own house... by himself. There have been three other professional crews on our block with 10-12 guys - then there was Gary - patiently building his place one 2 x 4 at a time. Every time I walked by he always had a kind word - he was truly a great spirit. I just spoke with him last night - he was sitting out on his patio drinking a cold beer watching the sun go down. He had a big smile on his face. I nodded hello and he nodded back. He raised his beer. RIP - Gary. You were a great man and you will be missed.
