Last night whilst going through the Abbas El-Akkad street, there - TopicsExpress

Last night whilst going through the Abbas El-Akkad street, there was a power shortage, so the whole street was dark, save for a few outlets. The road was wet with overflowing sewage water. Slippery, difficult and uncomfortable to walk on. Cars didnt slow down though. Typical Cairo. Sitting in a microbus, I kept hearing complaints about the hike in gas price and bus fares from the passengers. The bane of the poor. Dark road, wet and difficult, and your economic power diminishing. This is the image of Egypt from the eyes of the lower middle class right now.
