Last week, The United States of Hope along with Extinction Witness - TopicsExpress

Last week, The United States of Hope along with Extinction Witness and the Jeanette Rankin Peace Center hosted a poetry reading event entitled Reverberations of War: Finding Refuge in Poem. Veterans, active military, and Missoula community gathered together to share poetry related to war and their mutual hope for peace. Two of our USOH staff shared poetry written by a young doctor from Mosul, Iraq. We have many people to thank for helping us make this event a success. We would like to thank Megan Holingsworth of Extinction Witness for her time and dedication in co-organizing the event and the Jeanette Rankin Peace Center for their sponsorship. Thanks to Betsy Mulligan Dague for opening our event and introducing our poets and readers. We would also like to thank Pete Davies for providing the beautiful artwork for our posters and Nathan Zavalney for providing recording equipment as well as Shakespeare & Co. of Missoula for letting us use their bookstore for our event. Last, but not least, we would like to thank all of our poets and readers as well as all those who attended the poetry reading. Reverberations of War was a first-time event for USOH and we are working now to make this a quarterly affair. Stay tuned for more information.
