Last week Yogi and his human pack spend 4 days and 3 nights at the Twin Lakes. Yogi was helping out to carry his food, water and long line leashes. In Kaiser Wilderness dogs are allowed on the most beautiful trails, but they have to be on the leash, or under strong recall if off leash. Yogi is not good on recalls especially if dogs and people he doesn’t know are around, he was tied to long leash all the time. He met couple of dogs that they were off leash but on very poor recall, so he needed to be manage extremely well, wearing muzzle or getting blocked from approaching dogs. Backpacking is fun thing to do with your dog! This was a 8.2 mile hike to Twin Lakes in the Kaiser Wilderness of the Sierra National Forest. Potter Pass Cutoff (Kaiser Pass Rd) is located near Huntington Lake. This is a moderate hike (though the elevation at 8000 ft makes it seem tough). The climb up to Potter Pass is steady but moderate. Tips: Bring plenty of water and repellent. Be aware of the high elevation. The trail is well marked for the most part and in good condition. youtu.be/CtbvJUNwjDU
