Late in the night I rise from my bed I stand and look out at the sea. Ive walked for miles To get where I am Some place unfamiliar to me. Though I may wander cross boundaries and borders Drunk on my need to be free Scotland is where I belong. Scotland will always belong to me. I dream of Rio and hills in the dusk And a view that looks down on the bay. And a dark, cold Chicago in a December rush And people with places to be. Strong though I trust In my lust to be lost In a forest of foreign cities. Scotland is where I belong. Scotland will always belong to me. Though I may sing for supper in Melbourne And be down and out in Paris. Thought I may drunk myself silly in Moscow And wake with a blurred memory. Though I may have other loves in my life As I stumble from mountain to sea. Scotland is where I belong Scotland will always belong to me. Scotland Where my heart lies Where my flag flies Always to see. Scotland Oh, it has been too long This is my country This is where I belong. And though I may see every inch of this world Theres no place I would rather be . To Scotland Ill always return. Scotland, youll be returned to me. https://youtube/watch?v=sRpUFlWhhUo
