The FCO is not advising British nationals to leave the country, and there is no advice against travel to the Red Sea resorts of Hurghada (including Makadi Bay, El Gouna, Sahl Hasheesh and Soma Bay), Sharm el Sheikh, Dahab or Taba. The Red Sea resorts remain safe The Red Sea resorts are several hundred miles – at least a five hour drive – from Cairo.
