Lawrence County is number 1 in Rice Production!! In a recent report Lawrence County was identified ass having the largest number of rice acres in the state at approximately 83,000 acres fro 2013. Soybeans were estimated at 67,800 acres, wheat was about 6,100 acres, sorghum at approximately 2,800 acres corn acres were estimated at just less than 11,000 acres and peanuts were estimated at just over 5,000 acres for the county.
