So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. - 1Thes 5:6 The day the people of Israel decided to be like other nations around them, God said, they are rejecting me...They don’t want me to be their King any longer. (1 Samuel 8:7 NLT) • Friends, we are saved to be new creation, not to be like the Jews nor the Gentiles; God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it...For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. (Ephesians 2:8-9, 14-15 NLT) > God in Jesus created us in Christ a NEW PEOPLE, not a recycled people; But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9 NLT) • In Christ Jesus our genealogy is not traced to the Jews and Gentiles laws and ways but in God; But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. (John 1:12-13 NLT) > The gene in the believers are not of human or satan but of God. Such life cannot be defined nor destroyed by human or satan; “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life...So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. (Jn 3:16. Rom 8:1-2 NLT) • As truly born again believers in Christ Jesus of Nazareth, you should not try to be like others, For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night...Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk. But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. (1 Thessalonians 5:5, 7-11 NLT) > Dont be like others who are walking by sight and according to the principles of the world; For we live by believing and not by seeing...This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (2 Corinthians 5:7, 17 NLT) + Dont be like others who copy the festival, life, ways and principles of the world religion; Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: “I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the LORD. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty. ” (2 Corinthians 6:14-18 NLT) + Do not be like others nor deceived by the crowd; Jesus says, You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it...Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ (Matthew 7:13-14, 21-23 NLT) + Dont be like others who love to mix the law and the faith, for they love to pay tithes but ignore others laws of the Old Testament; they believe Jesus fulfilled some old law, and not all the law; they observe the law of tithing but ignore the law of observing the Sabbath every Saturday; they are condemning true believers by insisting on pious self-denial or the worship of angels, saying they have had visions about these things. Their sinful minds have made them proud, and they are not connected to Christ, the head of the body. For he holds the whole body together with its joints and ligaments, and it grows as God nourishes it. (Colossians 2:18-19 NLT) > Yes, they celebrates Christmas, Easter and other pagan invented worship/service of God. Jesus said to them, “You like to appear righteous in public, but God knows your hearts. What this world honors is detestable in the sight of God. (Luke 16:15 NLT) + Do not be like others nor deceived by the so called church denominations; For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all. (Ephesians 4:4-6 NLT) > The wise one said, My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them! (Proverbs 1:10 NLT) • They entice you to honor/worship what the Lord Jesus has not commanded. What or Who are you honoring in the name of doing service for God? > The body of Christ is called to honor only one person; so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him. (John 5:23 NLT) • If you have been saved by grace through faith, you have no excuse whatsoever to remain in darkness/ignorance, for Jesus says, The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all...I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” (Lk 12:2. Jn 8:12 NLT) > It is time you go out of the crowd and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you; ...if I do not go away, the Helper will not come... (Jn 16:7) Think about it. • If you do not go away from the crowd, the Holy Spirit will not lead you! + Friends, may you see the light that will help you go away from the lies of men and satan; May you walk in the light of life of the Son of the living God the rest of your lives in Jesus Name!
